The long-awaited, ambitious and innovative redevelopment project of the Rochebrune massif intends to meet a twofold need: to make the area more rational in terms of facilities and to make it possible to better enjoy the diversity of the area's slopes thanks to an easier and more fluid transfer between the sectors of the Rochebrune massif. The development chosen consists of replacing four devices with two detachable chairlifts and a ski lift, minimizing the impact of the project on the natural environment. This choice was the result of numerous studies, and more particularly independent and precise studies on the impacts on fauna and flora, dealing with each of the protected species inventoried on the site. The chosen development was justified on the basis of its viability over a horizon of more than 30 years. The State services in charge of the environment have thus underlined the rigour of the approach and the quality of the project in environmental terms.
All the authorisations have thus been obtained in order to allow the delivery and commissioning of the entire project in December 2023. Unfortunately, this timetable has been substantially modified.
Indeed, if the work was able to start in the spring of 2022, it, although very advanced, had to be stopped following appeals filed by associations, particularly from Grenoble and a landlord.
All the teams of the Megève Ski Lift Company, fully involved in this project, are continuing their efforts to see it succeed. At the same time, they are working on other solutions for the redevelopment of this sector.

Concerning the Mont d'Arbois sector, provisional agreements have been reached to operate this part of the ski area for the winter of 2024/2025. In this transitional context, investments in the modernisation of this sector are unfortunately not possible. However, all the teams remain mobilized and motivated in order to welcome our loyal customers in the best conditions.
